HAMMER Team welcomes Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie High School Students
Half-day event offered early exposure to advanced manufacturing and robotics research
Jan 2026
Northwestern’s HAMMER research team welcomed students from their respective high school’s VEX and FTC robotics teams to inspire and prepare them to pursue future studies and careers in advanced manufacturing and robotics. Students toured state-of-the-art labs, attended short presentations from PhD students and postdocs, and engaged in open discussions with faculty about engineering pathways and college opportunities. The interactive visit also invited students to share their own robotics projects, fostering meaningful two-way dialogue with NU researchers. By connecting cutting-edge research to real-world applications, the event strengthened students’ awareness of engineering careers and inspired their interest in pursuing future studies in mechanical engineering, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
